April 20th to 26th, 2026

Peterborough, ON – Peterborough has been selected as the host community for the 2026 TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Under-18 Men’s Club Championship. The national tournament will take place April 20–26, 2026 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre and will feature six of the top U18 men’s teams from across the country, including the host Peterborough Minor Petes, who will make their TELUS Cup debut.

The TELUS Cup is Hockey Canada’s premier U18 men’s club championship, offering a national stage for the country’s top young talent and an unforgettable experience for athletes and fans alike. With Peterborough’s strong hockey culture and passionate fan base, the city is well-positioned to deliver a first-class event both on and off the ice.

The Peterborough Memorial Centre, the city’s premier sports and entertainment venue, will be the home base for the 2026 TELUS Cup. Steeped in history and hometown pride, the PMC has played host to unforgettable moments—most recently celebrating the Peterborough Petes’ 2023 OHL Championship, as well as the iconic 1996 Memorial Cup. From major concerts to national lacrosse and hockey championships, the PMC continues to be a hub of electric energy and elite competition. It’s the perfect stage to welcome fans from across the country for a week of high-stakes U18 hockey action.

A Winning Bid for the Community
Peterborough’s successful bid was led by Peterborough Tourism, with support from the Ontario Hockey Federation, Peterborough Minor Hockey Council, local tourism stakeholders, and the Peterborough Petes. Hosting the TELUS Cup highlights the city’s growing reputation as a top-tier destination for major sport events.

Legacy on Ice
Peterborough’s proud hockey history is deeply embedded in its community fabric. The Peterborough Petes, the longest-operating team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), have produced more than 150 NHL players, including legends such as Steve Yzerman, Chris Pronger, Mike Fisher, and Bob Gainey.

The TELUS Cup adds to that legacy by giving the Peterborough Minor Petes an opportunity to represent the community on home ice with national exposure—and the team is looking forward to bringing another championship to Peterborough.

More Than Just Hockey
The 2026 tournament is expected to bring hundreds of athletes, coaches, and fans to the region, creating momentum not only for the sport but also for local businesses, volunteers, and community pride. From game-day excitement to off-ice hospitality, Peterborough will be ready to welcome Canada.
